Agricultural workers brutally attacked by masked men in Majdal al-Aqoura amid repeated crimes

Masked armed men surrounded an agricultural room inhabited by agricultural workers in Majdal al-Aqoura. They broke down the door and opened fire inside their house. They severely beat them with a sharp object and fled.

The victims were transferred to St. Maritime Hospital in Jbeil, and it was found that there were fractures in the skull of one of them, as well as other fractures, and severe wounds in the abdomen, back, hands and legs, where one of them was in critical condition.

According to preliminary investigations, it was found that the attackers were residents of the area, and work is underway to determine their identity and the motives for this crime, according to an official reference.

It should be noted that crimes and ambushes are repeated in this town, the latest of which was the theft of the electricity cables of the Lebanon Company and a number of houses in the area, preceded by an armed ambush and shooting that lasted half an hour, where the person named Shehadeh Youssef Asaker was killed about ten months ago.
Before that, Syrian workers were arrested, stripped, shackled, beaten, humiliated, photographed, and videos broadcasted on social networks.

In this context, an official source pointed out that “the negligence of the state apparatus and the judiciary has become more like complicity, as there are no serious investigations, accountability, or prosecutions in all the repeated crimes, despite their horrific nature, wondering who is covering up this chaos.”
