Agricultural sector among the MPLA’s development bets in UígeThe first provincial secretary of the MPLA in Uíge, José Carvalho da Rocha, challenged, this Saturday, in the municipality of Sanza-Pombo, the municipal administrations to invest more in agricultural production, aiming to combat hunger and poverty in the region.
The politician, who spoke at the mass event celebrating the MPLA’s 67th anniversary, which took place on Sunday (10), said that this commitment also aims to create employment opportunities for youth.
As one of the main premises for overcoming the challenges of the future, José Carvalho da Rocha called for unity and cohesion among party members and the population in general.
He said it is important that MPLA activists close ranks around President João Lourenço, as well as creating policies to improve the population’s living conditions.
The politician highlighted the construction of new social infrastructures in the region, with emphasis on education, health, road construction and other facilities of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM).
