The man of Iranian origin, 35 years old, who was shot in the head on Friday night (8/3) in the area of Agios Panteleimons succumbed to his injuries.
The incident took place shortly before 22:00, outside a hookah cafe, at the intersection of Epirou and Michail Voda streets, in the center of Athens. The man was taken to the “Georgios Gennimatas” hospital where he was intubated but ultimately failed.
He suffered a severe gunshot wound to the head.
What are the authorities looking at?
Among other things, the authorities are looking into whether something happened inside the store before the man was injured by a firearm. The Attica Police Department is conducting a preliminary investigation.
According to other reports, the man was attacked by a group of people, with the Greek Police trying to trace the perpetrators.
