Again Splashy! After Ambarrukmo, Centro Bintaro Xchange Closed?

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – A wave of fashion retail store closings has occurred again. After last week happened to Centro at Plaza Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta, now shops from the same group are also reportedly affected, namely Centro in Bintaro Xchange, Tangsel, Banten.

“There is such news (closed), but still waiting for the official information,” said Alphonsus Widjaja, Chairman of the Indonesian Shopping Center Management Association (APPBI). CNBC Indonesia, Tuesday (23/2/21).

If it is true that there is a closure again, it will increase the length of retail that collapsed due to the impact of Covid-19. Earlier on Wednesday (17/3/2021), the Centro Department Store at Plaza Ambarrukmo, Yogyakarta, officially closed the retail network managed by PT Tozy Sentosa.

The retail network owned by Parkson Retail Asia Ltd which is listed on the Singapore Exchange, through PT TozySentosa, closed down after serving the people of Yogyakarta for 15 years since Plaza Ambarrukmo was founded.

“Per today [Rabu] It’s starting to close, the last day it opened was yesterday, “said a member of Customer Service Plaza Ambarrukmo, quoted by CNNIndonesia.

Mall management said Centro’s closure came after the store had been heavily discounted in recent days.

“Yesterday we had an all-out sale, maybe to finish off the stock. But the closure was only announced one day before,” he said.

Similar news at the Centro Bintaro Xchange has been detected since the end of last month. Several Twitter users said that this retail store had been affected.

“Reporting from Centro Bintaro. I didn’t ask or not but arrived the mas arrived” Sorry Ma’am, none of our items can be displayed. we were really affected “then … nyessss,” wrote the @aldeafr account on February 28 ago.

“Centro in Bintaro Tangsel is also closed. It’s really sad about the effects of this pandemic,” wrote @ProudlyCushions responding to the news that Centro at Plaza Ambarukmo was closed.

CNBC Indonesia visited the Centro location at Bintaro Xchange, Tuesday afternoon (23/3). On the doorstep was an announcement that read “Sorry for the inconvenience, Centro Bintaro Xchange is carrying out a stock of name “

An employee on the GF floor who asked not to be named said that it was partially closed, but for Centro on the LG floor, the position was limited.

“Not yet, there is no information about wanting to close, while the goods are still not closed, but the goods are only this much,” he explained.
