In the Kalverstraat, temporary one-way traffic was again introduced this afternoon due to crowds. According to the municipality, this creates more space for shoppers. The one-way traffic starts from Dam Square to Spuistraat.

In recent days, there has been much discussion about possible measures against crowds in the city center. Shopkeepers on the Kalverstraat argue for a mouth mask obligation, but for the time being this only applies to public transport.
Mayor Halsema said this week that she, like Mayor Aboutaleb of Rotterdam, wanted to make an effort to expand the moon cape duty. She does think that such a measure should then be announced by central government.
