Again contaminated corona vaccines found in Japan | Abroad

On Thursday, more than 1.6 million Moderna vaccines were recalled as a precaution due to an unknown substance in some bottles. It is not known what kind of contaminants are involved and whether they pose a health hazard. Research is being done.

Japanese authorities announced on Saturday that two men had died after receiving vaccines from a contaminated batch, but it is still unclear whether those deaths were the result of the vaccinations. This is also still under investigation.

About 44 percent of Japan’s population has been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. The Asian country has been dealing with an increase in corona infections since July. Due to the many infections, strict measures are in place in large parts of Japan to prevent the spread of the virus.
