After the TMII, the Granadi Building & Megamendung Villa were taken over by the state

Jakarta

The government took over the management of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) as well as the assets of the Granadi Building and the Megamendung villa. These three assets have something to do with the family of former President Soeharto.

TMII was previously managed by the Harapan Kita Foundation. He is assigned only as a manager, provided that these assets remain owned by the state.

Meanwhile, the Granadi Building and Megamendung villa assets owned by the Supersemar Foundation were founded by Suharto. However, the state had to confiscate it in 2018 because it was related to a legal case of misappropriation of state funds.

Here’s the explanation:

1. Reasons for the State to Take Over TMII

Director of State Property (BMN) of the Ministry of Finance, Encep Sudarwan, said that as long as TMII was managed by the Harapan Kita Foundation, it had never paid non-tax state revenue (PNBP). So far, only taxes have been paid.

“There are two state revenues, tax and non-tax. For taxes, they pay taxes, but if PNBP has not existed so far,” Encep said in a discussion with DJKN on the theme of ‘TMII Takeover’, Friday (16/4/2021).

Reason TMII never paid PNBP because in Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 51 of 1977 regarding the management of TMII carried out by the Harapan Kita Foundation, it had not been regulated how the PNBP was. With the transfer of management, it is hoped that the state-owned assets will contribute to generating PNBP in the future.

“Because the Presidential Decree 77 did not (exist), understand maybe at that time the Presidential Decree 51 of 77 there did not regulate how the PNBP was. So now we have to be clear if BMN is used, it is used by other parties, let alone the businessman. regular contribution, profit sharing, “he said.

2. The reason that the Granadi Building and Megamendung Villa are Government Managed

Encep said that the goods that have been confiscated by the state automatically become BMN and are managed by the government.

“The Granadi building and assets in Megamendung, along that BMN is managed by the DJKN (Directorate General of State Assets),” he said.

So far the South Jakarta District Court has confiscated assets worth around Rp 242 billion from a total of 113 accounts belonging to the Supersemar Foundation. Meanwhile, the Supersemar Foundation is obliged to pay state losses of Rp.4.4 trillion.

3. Insured assets

Encep said that after the building officially becomes BMN, it will be insured. Like TMII, currently being audited which parts are deemed necessary to be insured first.

“BMN plans to be insured, including TMII. Later, when it is found out which ones need to be insured, in principle all BMN must be insured, but gradually there are buildings, offices first, “said Encep.
