The former sovereign of the royal MotoGP class fell four times on the Mandalika circuit and finally lost the second race of the season after a concussion. Today, Márquez’s Honda team announced that he had vision problems again.

“It looks like I’m experiencing deja vu,” Márquez said on Twitter. “On the way back to Spain, I had vision problems and a check-up at the doctor revealed that my diplopia had returned,” he added.

“Fortunately, it’s not as serious as at the end of last year. But I still have to rest now and we’ll see what it looks like next,” said the six-time MotoGP champion. Another race is scheduled for next week in Argentina.

Márquez’s double vision, which was fifth in the inaugural race of the new season two weeks ago, has plagued him several times. The last time the 29-year-old rider had to take a three-month break was due to last season.
