Like the default Q5, the SQ5 has different headlights and taillights with OLED technology after the facelift. Both bumpers are also intergenerationally different, the “esk” version now has an even larger radiator grille.

Inside, multimedia is the biggest change. The 10.1 “touch screen in the middle is complemented as standard by a 12.3” digital instrument panel with three graphic layouts. Infotainment uses a new interface, but the double screen did not occur as with the larger models, as did the related modernized middle-class models.

The three-liter six-cylinder diesel remains on offer, but uses forged steel pistons instead of aluminum pistons, reducing heat loss. Injection, cooling and the exhaust system have also undergone changes. In addition to the classic turbocharger, the engine is also helped by an electric compressor connected to the 48V network.

The paired engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission and permanent all-wheel drive will offer 251 kilowatts, 341 hp and 700 newton meters. Acceleration from zero to 100 km / h takes five seconds and the maximum speed is 250 km / h.

Production will continue at the San José Chiapa plant in Mexico. The innovated SQ5 will arrive on the Czech market in the first quarter of 2021 for a price starting at CZK 1,858,900.
