After the cyber attack on CD Projekt, some data leaked into the network

After the February cyber attack on CD Projekt, the company’s internal data, including HR and financial information on employees and contractors related to the production of CyberPunk 2077, appeared on the Internet, CD Projekt informed in a press release.

CD Projekt also warned that data circulating on the Internet may be manipulated.

CD Projkt also informed that it works with a large group of experts and the office legal issues, as well as with the Polish police to solve the problem and guarantee the privacy of its employees. The company also contacted Interpol and Europol.

In early February 2021, CD Projekt reported that its internal CD network had been attacked by unknown perpetrators, some data had been stolen and a ransom was demanded.

Unknown perpetrators gained access to the network, took some of the data belonging to the CD Projekt group and left a ransom note. The company has announced that it does not intend to contact criminals and is carrying out activities limiting the consequences of possible disclosure of data (e.g. by contacting entities that may be affected by this event).

The company then announced that, to its current knowledge, the stolen data does not contain private information about players and people using the services provided by the group. (PAP Biznes)
