The protagonist is called Juana Perez-Domingo and has now been arrested on charges of manslaughter. The forty-three-year-old woman took the baby home early in the morning – according to local media reports – but found the nursery school where she had to accompany her still closed. At that point the decision to go back and stop at his house, probably to wait for the asylum to open and then go back.

Once she got home, Perez-Domingo got distracted and forgot her two-year-old in the car. The child remained locked inside, with the seat belt fastened and the windows closed. The woman, at that point, completely forgot the little girl and only found her after seven hours, when she returned to the car and found her locked inside, in the sun and tied with the seat belt. According to police reports, the babysitter contacted the girl’s mother immediately, even before notifying the rescue.

Also according to what is written in the police report, cited by local media who reported the news, Perez-Domingo would leave for the child’s house, where he met the child’s mother. But there was already nothing more to be done. In fact, the rush to the town hospital was worthless. The child was declared dead by the medical staff of the health facility. An autopsy was ordered on the body of the little victim, while the babysitter is accused of manslaughter.
