After Putin’s address to the Federal Assembly, an ambitious concert rally is planned

The concert rally at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium is scheduled to be held on February 22, three sources familiar with the situation told RBK.

This event is intended as a continuation of Putin’s speech, in which emphasis is planned to be placed on military-patriotic topics.

It is expected that the event will gather 200,000 people at Luzhniki Stadium.

Putin’s address to the Federal Assembly was supposed to take place last year, but it was postponed, most likely due to the failures of the Russian army in the war in Ukraine.

According to one of the information sources, this year Putin’s address is planned as close as possible to February 24, when it is one year since Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

February 21 will mark one year since Putin recognized the independence of the self-proclaimed “people’s republics” of Donbass.

On the other hand, a large-scale concert with Putin’s participation in Russia was held last time on March 18, 2022 – the anniversary of the annexation of Crimea.
