A corona outbreak has apparently occurred in the world-famous Berghain techno club in Berlin-Friedrichshain. As reported by the Berliner Morgenpost, at least 19 people are said to have contracted the virus on the first night of the club’s reopening.

Previously, the industrial building at Ostbahnhof had been closed for more than a year and a half due to the Corona and had opened its doors much later than other Berlin clubs.
The Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district office confirmed the morning post and spoke of 15 infected party guests who live in Friedrichshain or Kreuzberg. Four other infections in connection with the first club night were reported from other districts of Berlin.
All those affected are fully vaccinated and have so far only spoken of mild progress, the morning post quoted a spokeswoman for the district office. However, contact tracing would be difficult as a total of 2500 people would have to be informed. This is recommended by the district to be tested as a precaution.
