After Laying Off Employees, Educational Startup Pahamify Says Goodbye

This was conveyed by Pahamify on their Instagram account as seen by detikINET, Wednesday (29/6/2022). In the post, this educational startup wrote the word “goodbye” along with an emoji.

In the same post, Pahamify revealed on June 23 that they went through stressful times, where users got happy news. That date refers to the announcement of the UTBK-SNPTM.

But at the same time, Pahamify revealed that his duties as an educational startup had been completed. For those who have subscribed, Pahamify also confirms their fate.

“For those who have subscribed, don’t worry, the application will continue to operate for an undetermined time,” said Pahamify.

The forerunner of the birth of Pahamify came from YouTube channel Question Mark Rain in 2016. The channel was created by Ikhsan and Fikri as an educational medium about science and technology that is packaged lightly and attractively to attract public interest, especially young people.

In January 2018, the Rain of Question Marks YouTube channel changed to a company called PT Pahami Cipta Edukasi. This company was founded by Ikhsan, Fikri and took Edria who was a friend during his studies at ITB.

A year later, the Pahamify application was officially launched and then received funding from Y Combinator in March 2020. After that, it developed by launching a desktop version in August.

Even in the same year, in November to be exact, Pahamify already reached 1 million downloads and pocketed Series A funding led by Shunwei Capital.

But unfortunately, Pamify’s age did not last long until she decided to say goodbye in June 2022.

Previously, startup layoff storm this is hitting Indonesia. The company’s decisions to lay off include LinkAja, Zenius Education, Fabelio, TaniHub, and others.
