Gold prices in the local market increased slightly, as the gram increased by about 50 piasters, during Sunday’s trading, compared to yesterday’s levels.
The price of a 21-gram gold in Egypt today was 708 pounds, compared to about 707.5 pounds yesterday, according to what Naguib Club, Secretary General of the Gold Division of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce told Masrawy.
The price of a gram of 18 carat gold today rose to 606.8 pounds, and 24 carat to 809 pounds, while the price of gold went to 5664 pounds.
Today is an official holiday on the global stock exchange.
Gold prices jumped yesterday by about 7.5 pounds per gram, as a result of the rise in the price of the yellow metal to its highest level in seven years.
