The area under the Old Main Bridge in Würzburg is actually clearly signposted. Vehicles can only pass through there up to a certain height. Nevertheless, a non-local bus driver wanted to drive under the low arch around 6 p.m.
The bus got stuck on the roof and was only afloat after about two hours. Air was released from the tires to free the vehicle. A special recovery vehicle was also used. According to police, the statics of the Old Main Bridge are not at risk.
No injuries
The property damage incurred is estimated at at least 10,000 euros. All bus passengers remained unharmed and continued their journey with replacement vehicles.
