Apple justifies this move with a more gentle approach to nature. More demanding customers do not use the supplied charger and headphones, instead they buy wireless solutions.

In any case, this means that people cannot do without further investment in purchasing iPhones. This is true even if they already have a USB charger at home. The supplied cable does not have a traditional and widely used USB-A connector, but a newer USB-C standard and a traditional Lightning connector at the other end.
