According to information issued by the Ministry of Defense, in The first hours of this Saturday authorities arrived at the “Y” sector in Llanogrande in the municipality of Palmira, where they carried out an operation to clear the area, which resulted in the capture of 19 people.

According to the authorities, in this same operation 5 motorcycles were immobilized and various items were seized such as radios, spell shields, incendiary devices and food inside huts installed on the site.

The person who made the announcement was General Juan Alberto Libreros, director of the Traffic and Transportation section of the Valle del Cauca Police. 200 policemen participated in this operation and there were no confrontations.

“At 4 in the morning, a blockade was intervened that lasted for more than 30 days, preventing the mobility and tranquility of the residents of this sector and of the community in general. As a result of this intervention, we have a total of 19 arrests, five immobilized motorcycles, various elements such as Molotov cocktails, incendiary devices that will be made available to the Attorney General’s Office ”, stated Libreros.

“We continue with the unblocking of our national roads. In recent days, the city of Tuluá has been intervened, where 3 bridges were blocked, La Y de Bugalagrande and the municipalities of Andalusia and San Pedro; also the city of Buga, with 4 blocking points ”, affirmed the major general.

When delivering the information, the high command of the Valla del Cauca Traffic Police added: “These operations are carried out in compliance with the instructions given by the President of the Republic and the Minister of National Defense, to guarantee tranquility, security and above all, the free mobility of all Colombians along all road axes. from the country”, the high command of the Valle del Cauca Transit Police pointed out.

Additionally, the Military Forces reported that in caravan No. 16, organized in the last 24 hours as part of the reactivation of the production chain, 196 cargo vehicles left the port of Buenaventura and 172 entered.

“In ‘urbaneo’ work, 2,567 automobiles were mobilized in the Buenaventura seaport. These legitimate actions in favor of security and free mobility contribute directly to the well-being of the population and to the economic reactivation in the southwestern part of the country, ”said General Álvaro Vicente Pérez, Commander of the Southwest Joint Command No. 2.

The Army, the Police and the Navy achieved the accompaniment of seven caravans between Cali – Corozal, La Tebaida – Cali, Mediacanoa – Buenaventura, Buenaventura – Mediacanoa, Puerto Tejada – Cali, Mulaló – Jamundí – Ingenio Providencia and Mayaguez and urbaneo in Buenaventura.

In addition to this important unblocking, the intervention and clearance of one of the most critical points in the north of Cali was achieved, in the Paso del Comercio sector that connects the capital of the Valley with Palmira.

“We found more or less 200 people, who as soon as they saw the presence of the Police and the Army, they immediately withdrew, some of them to residential complexes in the sector. Food has been found, such as a kind of trenches, notebooks, elements that are going to be very important for the entire body of evidence in the judicial processes that we carry out ”, explained General Juan Carlos León Montes, Commander of the Cali Metropolitan Police.
