All night arrests in Sofia after another fight with migrants. More than 100 people have been detained, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.
The Ministry of the Interior is increasing the presence of police and gendarmerie in Sofia, due to several cases of fights between Bulgarians and migrants in the capital.
On Saturday evening, checks were carried out on the territory of Sofia, a little over 100 people were detained, announced the deputy director of the Metropolitan Directorate of Internal Affairs, Commissioner Miroslav Danailov. “Most have been screened and released,” he specified.
“A specialized police operation was ordered by the minister and carried out immediately to check the migrants who are on the territory of the capital. I want to say that we will be uncompromising. We found it necessary for the State Agency for Refugees to strengthen control over the sites, for who is in charge and to have a clear idea of how the protocol is implemented in them,” said the deputy director of the Metropolitan Directorate of Internal Affairs, Commissioner Miroslav Danailov, to Nova TV.
“There will be patrols deployed, together with the Gendarmerie, in the areas that are judged to be the most vulnerable,” he added.
