This weekend, the nationwide strong cold is coming again. From the afternoon of the 17th on Sunday to the next day, it is expected that up to 15cm of snow will fall around the central region.
On the 15th, the Meteorological Administration said, “The temperature will gradually decrease from night, and on the 16th, the minimum temperature in the morning of the country is expected to drop significantly by 5-10℃.” Currently, the cold weather warning has been in effect in the central northern region, and the intensity of cold air inflow is gradually increasing. Accordingly, it is expected that there will be many cold places in other central regions and southern inland as the minimum temperature on weekend mornings falls below -10℃. On the morning of the 16th, the central region will stay below -5℃ and the southern region will stay below 0℃, and on the morning of the 17th, the morning temperature is expected to drop below -15℃, centering on the central inland.

It is expected that a large amount of snow will fall from the afternoon of the 17th to the 18th. The expected snowfall is 5-10cm in eastern Gyeonggi Province, Gangwon-do, and northern Chungbuk from 3pm on the 17th to 6pm on the 18th. The Meteorological Agency predicted that there may be places where it snows up to 15 cm. 2~7cm of snow is expected in the metropolitan area (excluding eastern Gyeonggi), Chungnam area, southern Chungbuk, inland Jeonbuk, and northern Gyeongbuk.
An official from the Meteorological Administration said, “From the afternoon of the 17th, warm air blows from the west, and the snow cloud belt on the sea flows into the west coast of Chungcheongnam-do. The cold air quickly descends to the south, and the cloud belt is more developed, so it will snow in southern Chungcheong and Jeollabuk-do.”
