AEW will make its Los Angeles debut after this year’s Double or Nothing event.. Today it was announced that the post-PPV episode of AEW Dynamite (Wednesday, June 1) will take place at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Double or Nothing will take place in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 29.
The June 1 episode of Dynamite will be the first AEW show to take place in California since the company was created.. Similarly, today it has also been announced that the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California, will host the edition of AEW Rampage on Friday, June 3. The announcement took place in Being the Elite, and those in charge of doing it were the Young Bucks, since they are from that area of Southern California.
In this sense, and as part of the promotion of these future events, Tony Khan has been interviewed by the media Variety, where the president of the company has discussed various topics, such as the debut of AEW in California or the next step of the company.
“It is very important for AEW to get to Los Angeles and bring Dynamite to The Forum, which is an impressive place”Tony Khan told Variety. “It’s been a long time since AEW, which is one of the most watched cable TV shows in America, hasn’t brought our show to Los Angeles, which is a top media market and where there are so many great wrestling fans. and a great history of professional wrestling”.
Khan also noted in his Variety interview that AEW’s next step now that they’re touring from coast to coast is to reach out to fans around the world:
“I think it means we’re back in full swing with a coast-to-coast national tour, finally reaching fans all over the United States,” Khan said. “The next step is to reach fans around the world.”
It should be noted that the Forum was home to the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Kings until both teams moved to Staples Center in 1999.
It was also reported today that AEW will make its Detroit, Michigan debut with a live episode of Dynamite broadcast and Rampage tapings taking place at Little Caesars Arena on Wednesday, June 29.
