Increasingly devastating weather catastrophes are the result of climate protection being implemented too late and often only half-heartedly. Two years ago, the Greens in the Würzburg district council applied for the establishment of a climate management position in the district. Unlike the district of Main Spessart or the district of Neustadt/Aisch, the district of Würzburg preferred to limit itself to the future implementation of the recommendations for action in its energy concept, as well as to general reporting on the respective status and activities in the alliances, in the city and in the district municipalities.
“We will submit the application again for a position in climate management and climate adaptation in the district of Würzburg, whether as a new hire or as a reorganization with a specific department designation, task and area of competence. “In view of the increased price and scarcity of fossil fuels, we are confident that the district will not miss the chance for the future this time,” said parliamentary group spokesman Sven Winzenhörlein in conclusion.
