The state of Upper Austria is serious about the energy transition. A further 1.8 million euros in funding are now being made available to facilitate the switch from fossil fuel heating systems to more environmentally friendly systems.

“We want even more Upper Austrians to say goodbye to their old oil heating systems and to use renewable energies in the future. We are thus offering a noticeable incentive to switch to local and district heating connections, heat pumps and solar thermal systems, ”emphasized Markus Achleitner, State Minister for Economic Affairs.

“With this increase in our AdieuÖl funding, we are not only making an active contribution against climate change, but also helping to save. Because with the switch, not only the exhaust gases are reduced, but also the heating costs, ”explained Achleitner. “We want to make Upper Austria a pioneer region in the energy transition.”

Considerable progress has been made in this regard in recent years, with more than 60 percent of room heating in Upper Austria already coming from renewable energy sources and district heating.
