Adam Mišík on the film Banger: Drugs in our society were, are and will be. It’s up to everyone how they deal with it

“Banger is a story about a young boy who wants to fulfill his dream, will do anything for it and unfortunately reaches for a fast and extreme path,” Mišík outlined the film’s plot.

“It is a film that is about young people, about events in Prague and events in all cities in the Czech Republic, but I think that the film will also be appreciated by older people, because the motive of the story is universal,” added the representative of the main role.

In the film, Adam Mišík, who is better known as a cute singer and actor, played a completely opposite role. The film about a young rapper who wants to break through with his first big music hit and even distributes cocaine for money is full of dirty words and what drugs can do.

Mišík also talked about drugs for Novinky. “It’s part of today’s times. We don’t glorify it in the film, but at the same time it’s not a show that tells people: don’t do drugs. In this film, these things are portrayed in their authenticity,” he mentioned.

The young actor was also asked about his own relationship with drugs. “I think it’s quite a personal thing. I don’t feel the need to talk about it. It’s just that drugs are, were and always will be in our society, and it’s up to everyone to deal with it,” he said.

Everyone is the maker of their own luck

The role of Mišík’s girlfriend, who does not agree with his lifestyle, was played by actress Anna Fialová. “I play Adam Mišík’s girlfriend, but we have disagreements and it doesn’t actually work out very well between us, because I have a problem with what he does and how he deals with his life,” she described.

The actress views the issue of drugs, whether legal or illegal, as primarily the responsibility of each individual.

“Alcohol is also a drug, isn’t it? So it probably depends on the amount and responsibility of the individual. Everyone is the maker of their own happiness,” she added.

The film Banger, which premiered on Tuesday as part of the 56th Karlovy Vary Film Festival, was directed by Adam Sedlák and should be released in cinemas in September. Even before the premiere in Karlovy Vary, the filmmakers and the actors showed the film in the ČT House.
