Actress Helen McCrory, Narcissa Malfoy in the Harry Potter saga dies

Through his Twitter account, Helen McCrory’s husband announced the unfortunate news of her death. The 52-year-old actress left this world as one more cancer victim and after a “heroic battle”, as described by her partner, fellow actor Damien Lewis.

Helen McCrory, born in England in 1968, was a terrific British performer, best known for her work on the West End stages, for which she was the recipient of multiple awards and industry accolades. In the cinema, one of his most recognized roles was that of Narcissa Malfoy, mother of Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) in the Harry Potter saga.

Her husband, actor Damien Lewis, remembered above all for his portrayal of Nicholas Brody in the series Homeland, was in charge of breaking the news through his social networks.

“It breaks my heart to announce that after a heroic battle with cancer, the beautiful and powerful woman that is Helen McCrory has died peacefully at home, surrounded by a wave of love from her friends and family. He died as he lived. Without fear. God, we love her and we know how lucky we are to have had her in our lives. She glowed so brightly. Go now little one, on the air, and thank you ”.

Helen McCrory also participated in the James Bond saga with a brief role in Sam Mendes’ Skyfall (2012), where she confronted Judi Dench in a fictional MI6 court. She is recently remembered by viewers for her role as the criminal matriarch on the Netflix series Peaky Blinders.

Long before, the actress was part of the Oscar-nominated film The Queen (2007) in which he played the wife of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. In that film he shared the scene with Helen Mirren, and Michael Sheen. He was also part of the Doctor Who series during an episode of the fifth season in which he gave life to a vampire in Venice, during the time of the Black Death.
