Actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers was arrested on Sunday for drunk driving. According to TMZ he was arrested after he caused an accident involving no other vehicles.
Police sources said a report came in on Sunday afternoon about a car accident in Malibu, California. The officers would have found Rhys Meyers there under the influence. They took a breathalyzer test, which confirmed that the actor had been drinking.
The police decided to arrest the Irish actor. He is still in prison for the time being.
It is not the first time that Rhys Meyers, known for roles in, among others The Tudors in Vikings, comes into contact with the police. In 2018 he was arrested after an aggressive altercation with his wife on a plane, according to bystanders. He also lit an e-cigarette, which is prohibited.
The actor has previously spent time in rehab to overcome his alcohol addiction.
