The court had to consider Hall’s appeal against the court’s decision of 23 March, dismissing in its entirety the action against Daile Theater for annulment, reinstatement of the employer’s dismissal, compensation for average earnings and non-pecuniary damage, annulment of the employment contract clause and employment recognition of the contract as concluded for an indefinite period.

The proceedings were stayed at the request of the Hall. The court granted the request and the case was suspended, thus the court ruling adopted on March 23 will take legal effect.

At the same time, actress Sarmīte Rubule’s claim against Daile Theater for invalidation of the employer’s notice, reinstatement at work, recovery of average earnings, as well as recovery of compensation for moral damage has been in Daugavpils court in Preiļi since last autumn.

The case was scheduled to be heard at the end of March, but due to the state of emergency in the country, the case has now been withdrawn.

It has already been reported that the theater terminated its working relationship with Zali, Rubulis, Mārtiņš Poči, Aija Dzērvi and Ivars Auziņš last year. The hall was initially restored to work, but was later forced to leave the theater again.

Juris Žagars, the director of the Daile Theater, informed at a press conference last year that the theater is being reorganized in terms of staff. He stressed that the changes are not significant, but important enough to Daile Theater work more economically and efficiently.
