Action against school violence and bullying on Wednesday – 2024-03-29 00:48:27

AT IOANNNINA

The Network of School Mediation Schools of the Pedagogical Department of Kindergarten Teachers of the University of Ioannina in collaboration with 520 schools of all levels (150 Kindergartens, 185 Primary Schools, 112 Middle Schools and 73 High Schools) from all over the country and 1 from Imbro, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education , of Sports and Religion, of the Municipality of Ioannita and other Municipalities, will implement a pan-Hellenic action against school violence and bullying entitled “Break the silence, unite our voices against violence” on March 6, 2024, 10.30-11.15, on Michael pedestrian street Angelou, in Ioannina and in other central parts of towns and villages in our country. More than 25,000 students and over 1,000 teachers participate in the action.

The purpose of the action is to raise the awareness of students, members of the school community and the wider society against violence at school but also in other institutional contexts such as the family, work, sports, etc.

In the context of the action, students discuss violence and bullying, the forms, feelings of violence and bullying, coping and how important it is to break the silence and report incidents of violence and bullying.

On the day of the action, the students during their transition from the school to the central gathering point will wear masks depicting feelings of violence and intimidation and will represent forms of violence with some movements. At 11.00, the students will burst a balloon at the same time. Popping the balloons symbolizes breaking the silence and popping the balloons at the same time symbolizes that we join the voices.

The implementation of the action in a central part of the city aims to inform and raise awareness among citizens.
