Books – Mustafa Hamza:

The announcement by the Acting Professions Syndicate, headed by Dr. Ashraf Zaki, of referring the artist Liqa Suwaidan and the artist Mido Adel to the Disciplinary Board, was the latest chapter of the crisis that occurred on the evening of Saturday, September 23, on the last night of the performance of Sayed Darwish’s play.

The union, in its statement issued yesterday evening, Sunday, announced the adoption of the investigation committee’s decision to refer both the meeting between Yahya Mustafa Suwaidan and Muhammad Adel Abdel Moneim Hassan to the disciplinary council for what was attributed to them.

The Syndicate Council, upon meeting with Yahya Mustafa Suwaidan and member Mohamed Adel Abdel Moneim Hassan, warned not to provide any information or opinions regarding the problem to any of the social media, channels, etc., until the end of the disciplinary council.

The union also confirmed that it warned them not to take any legal measures until the disciplinary council ends.

The crisis began on the evening of Saturday, September 23, after a strong argument broke out, which escalated to the point where the artist, Mohamed Adel, was slapped by the artist, Liqaa Suwaidan, behind the scenes of the play “Sayyed Darwish,” on the last night of its performance on the occasion of the centenary of the popular artist, Sayyed Darwish.

Liqaa, in her first comment on the altercation, on her Facebook page, she wrote: “Good morning, I will not speak about a problem before the Legal Affairs Department from September 2, or before the Administrative Control, and I will not respond to posts that violate anything other than the law, and do not put us in liquidation.” Private accounts and conversations intended for personal revenge, thank you.”

In a telephone interview with the “Qaada Stat” program, the artist denied meeting Swaidan. The artist Mohamed Adel slapped her, and said: “The systematic campaign against me on social media makes anyone stay away from the topic and think, ‘I am being made videos of on a daily basis. Am I unable to see someone doing the opposite?’” He responded, “We all know what a systematic campaign and sponsored publications mean.”

She continued, “We are not in an investigative body, and it is possible for anyone in the time we are in to get upset and say, ‘Follow me. So-and-so told me that. The issues should not be addressed like this, and let us go with the investigating authorities.'”

Mr. Ibrahim, “the author of the show,” for his part, wrote on his Facebook page: “Jalila told me the night before, and the artist Yassin Al-Daw was with me, that she would close Sayed Darwish’s show, and I did not expect her to carry out her intended intention and do it on the last night, spoiling everyone’s joy and distorting it.” Success and effort for four years and not maintaining it and not going out to greet the audience, and lurking for the hero of the show, the artist Mido Adel, behind the scenes, and slapping him with a pen!! Despite this, he held his nerve and went out out of respect for his art, his audience, and the work that he loved. Then it became clear that this was her habit in all the shows that she worked. And I ignited its scenes and locked them! And the witnesses are alive and thriving.”

In response to Masrawy’s question about the incident where the artist, Mohamed Adel, was slapped by the artist, Liqa Suwaidan, the author replied: “This is what I know, and I wrote as the author of the show on my page.”

Sayed Darwish’s play, starring Muhammad Adel, Liqaa Suwaidan, Sayed Jabr, Rasha Sami, Sherif Abdel Wahab, Muhammad Antar, Muhammad El-Sherbiny, Youssef Obaid, Maher Obaid, Ashraf Abdel Aziz, Muhammad Al-Adl, written by Mr. Ibrahim, directed by Ashraf Azab, produced by the troupe Youth melodies.
