And that’s what happened: Croatia handily defeated Canada 4-1. Sure, tempers boiled even more and Andrej Kramaric, who scored two goals, didn’t miss the jump just like he did on the pitch:
– I would like to thank the Canadian captain for the motivation. In the end, Croatia proved who was wrong.
Zlatko Dalic was asked during the post match press conference what he and John Herdan had said to each other after the whistle, but as it turned out nothing, because the Canadian captain disappeared from the side of the field, he didn’t even congratulate him.
“I didn’t meet Herdman after the match,” said the Croatian national team captain. – I always congratulate the winner, but this time he was not present. This is his habit. He’s obviously crazy and it definitely takes him some time to learn things.
The Croatian national defender, Dejan Lovren, was no longer worried about the incident and the Canadian captain was happy with the victory and was already looking ahead:
– We were under a lot of pressure, but the evening went great, and now it’s a little easier. These three points are extremely important in the group compared to the rest. Apart from the first five minutes, we did a fantastic job. We fell asleep at first, didn’t focus enough.
Over time, we were able to turn the tide of the game and talk things over at half-time, and in the end it was all phenomenal. You see, everyone was saying that Morocco were easy opponents, and then they showed what they’re capable of against Belgium.
Now our fate against the Belgians depends on us, it won’t be easy, but we have many reasons.
John Herdman appeared at the press conference, of course, and briefly addressed the question that challenged his earlier words:
“There was no disrespect.” I could have been a little more collected, that’s the lesson, but I swallow this inconvenience.
In the final group stage, Croatia will meet Belgium and Morocco will meet Canada on 1 December at 16:00. The North American team can no longer advance, but the other three will play to advance.
