According to Edeka & Netto: Customers can now also buy luxury masks from Lidl

For a few days now, supermarket giant Edeka and its discounter subsidiary Netto Marken-Discount have been luring with a special luxury bargain.

The two retailers sell reusable mouth and nose masks from the well-known designer tailor Van Laack (you will find a picture of the mask in the text below). The products are sold net in a 5-pack at a price of 9.99 euros. At Edeka Nord, the goods are available in the online shop at a special offer of 9.95 euros. In the individual branches, the 5-pack costs 11.95 euros. The masks by the star designer are dust-filtering, water-repellent on the outside and washable at 60 degrees.

Lidl is now following suit. The company also announces the sale of the designer’s masks from May 18, 2020. The masks should gradually end up in the branches. However, at a significantly more expensive price.

The discounter charges 7.99 euros for the 3-pack. So that’s EUR 2.66 per mask. If you cancel the offer of Netto Marken-Discount, you get a mask price of 1.99 euros. Even at Edeka Nord, the luxury masks would be cheaper. For a 5-piece package price of 11.95 euros, only 2.39 euros are due.

Overall, the demand for masks is currently still high.

Van Laack actually only sells its products in boutiques or at Zalando. The star designer charges between 200 and 400 euros for a dress. Blouses and shirts cost between 80 and 300 euros.

Due to the current situation, the designer had significantly reduced production and relied on the production of masks. Other producers such as Trigema also followed this example.
