The Chinese government just relaxed these health rules (zero COVID). Good news therefore for the employees of the main factory of Foxconn and for Apple. As a result of factory accidents, Apple was estimated to be losing more than a billion dollars a week.
Health rules put in place by the Chinese government have impacted iPhone production for several weeks. Indeed, the city of Zhengzhou has been placed under surveillance to prevent the spread of COVID-19. In this city of Zhengzhou, there is one of the largest iPhone assembly plant. After several weeks of chaos, tensions appear to have subsided.
Cnn it teaches us that the confinement decreed in the area is now over and life can resume its course. Foxconn factory workers finally get the opportunity to go home after work. They no longer have to be stuck 24/7 at their workplace. A situation that had become untenable and had given way to riots.
Human and financial loss
This conflict on the side of the Foxconn factory will have left its mark. Both humanly and financially. We learn that clashes between workers and the factory’s security services resulted in many injuries and that Foxconn had to call in riot police for backup.
