There was an accident in Weisslingen (ZH) on Saturday (27.11.21). The head-on collision left two people injured, one seriously.
Around 8 p.m., a 65-year-old man drove a passenger car on Weisslingerstrasse in the direction of Weisslingen. At the same time, a 35-year-old car driver was heading for Kollbrunn.
According to initial findings, for reasons unknown at the moment, the driver of the passenger car got into the opposite lane shortly before the Weissenthal district, which resulted in a head-on collision between the two vehicles.
The driver sustained serious injuries in the accident and was driven to the hospital in an ambulance by an ambulance team after initial treatment.
The driver suffered minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital. The public prosecutor’s office ordered a blood and urine sample from both of those involved in the accident.
The exact cause of the accident is unclear and is being investigated by the Zurich canton police and the See / Oberland public prosecutor’s office. Because of the accident, Weisslingerstrasse had to be closed for around three hours; the fire brigade set up a local diversion.
In addition to the Zurich canton police, the Weisslingen and Zell fire brigades as well as the Winterthur Fire Department, the ambulance service of the Winterthur Hospital and a private towing company were in action.
