Zwickau – Terrifying moment for the players and coaches from Erzgebirge Aue on the way to the game in Nuremberg (Friday, 6.30 p.m.). Parts of a BMW crashed against the team bus of the second division soccer team!

It happened at 5:36 p.m. on the A72 at Hartenstein. The team bus, staffed by 15 players, coach Dirk Schuster and supervisors, rolled onto the motorway towards Hof.

Suddenly a BMW flew in from the side and lay on the side completely destroyed. Junk parts of the car slammed into the bus like bullets. Four windows of the bus broke and the boarding area was slightly damaged. The BMW driver (24) and his passenger were seriously injured.

According to the first information from the police, a VW van on the A 72 wanted to make room for the ascending bus, thereby switching to the left lane. “He apparently overlooked the BMW driving behind him,” said a police spokesman to BILD.

The BMW pulled to the right, touched the guardrail and literally took off. He rolled over several times, narrowly missed a collision with the bus and remained lying on his side, completely demolished. Both drivers came to a clinic with serious injuries.

Aue Managing Director Michael Voigt (47): “The players are of course in shock. The bus still comes to the workshop today. We will then try to organize another bus for the return trip from Nuremberg. ”
