Dubai: Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority has destroyed 56 tons of unfit food in the UAE. The action is due to non-compliance of proper safety guidelines for the food items brought to the market.
The method of transporting and storing food items should be scientific. Anything contrary to this is not allowed to be sold in the country. Scientific testing is underway to ensure compliance with the norms, the authority said.
The move is within the framework of the authority’s commitment to enforce food safety-related legislation and ensure the benefit of achieving the highest level of health and safety for the community.
ADAFSA stated in its annual report that all food products are subject to all regulations and inspection procedures to ensure their safety, standards and specifications are met.
