Erik ten Hag has been appointed permanent manager of Manchester United and will start in charge next season. He is under contract for three seasons with an option for a year extension.
It is currently reported that Ten Hag has started to focus on working at Manchester United, after his stint at Ajax is complete. For now, his attention is on pre-season preparations and squad building.
Meanwhile, Ralf Rangnick will still lead the United squad and set tactics for the final game of the season.
Ten Hag is waiting for a tough task, which has practically failed for many managers including Jose Mourinho, Louis van Gaal, to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The task is to bring MU to consistently fight in the top competition of the English League and be competitive in every competition that is followed.
MU itself has been fasting for titles since 2017 and the last Premier League title was won in 2013, in Sir Alex Ferguson’s last season. Ten Hag will be expected to at least bring United closer to the level needed to compete for the Premier League title again.
Former United player Daley Blind believes Erik ten Hag is capable, as long as he is given full confidence and time.
“It’s not an easy job, of course. But he doesn’t run either. He welcomes the challenge,” he said in a chat with former Dutch player Andy van der Meyde. Metro.
“I’m quite confident with him at Manchester United, but he needs the support of the board. At Ajax, he has Van der Sar and Overmars who support him no matter what, including the bad times.”

Blind reveals one of Ten Hag’s strengths is its focus on detail.
“Ten Hag hasn’t missed anything. Sometimes we face an opponent who will automatically take us lightly and we think ‘Ah, there’s no need for a 45-minute meeting for this’,” he continued.
“But he takes every game the same way, tactical training sessions, every detail,” said Blind.
