Sayed Abdel Hafeez, director of football at Al-Ahly club, confirmed that the duo, Mohamed El-Shennawy, the team goalkeeper, and Amr Al-Soleya, the midfielder, will be with the team naturally in the African Super.
Al-Ahly was crowned champion of the 2019/2020 CAF Champions League after beating Zamalek 2-1 in the final match at Cairo International Stadium for the ninth time in the club’s history and the first since 2013.
Al-Soulia and Al-Shennawi received yellow cards during the match, as did Muhammad Hani, while Hussein Al-Shahat was expelled after the match ended.
Abdel Hafeez said in statements to the Al-Ahly Club channel, “The yellow card that El-Shenawi obtained is the second in his balance. Kaf has amended the suspension regulations regarding the accumulation of cards to become after 3 cards.”
He stressed, “Al-Shennawi has the right to participate with Al-Ahly in the African Super without any problems, and also Amr Al-Soliya. Hussein Al-Shahat is the only absentee due to the suspension.”
Al-Ahly will play the African Super match in Egypt against the Moroccan Confederation Cup champion, Nahdet Berkane, at a later time.
