The electrical engineering giant ABB has completed the acquisition of a majority stake in the Chinese firm Shanghai Chargedot New Energy Technology. This takeover aims to strengthen the activities of the Zurich group in the electric mobility segment.
Founded in 2009, Chargedot manufactures charging stations for manufacturers and electric vehicle networks, said ABB on Tuesday. The company employs 205 people. Shanghai SAIC Anyo Charging Technology is also one of Chargedot’s shareholders.
The Zurich group seized 67% of the share capital for an undisclosed amount, with an option to increase this stake later, according to indications provided at the end of October.
