A Zero Carbon forum in Toulouse, digital, to think about the city of tomorrow

The health crisis should not muzzle the economic and societal debate. This is how your economic media for the territories The gallery maintains, in 100% digital, its Zero Carbon forum (formerly Smart City), in Toulouse and from the Salle des Illustres du Capitole, Monday, December 14. Despite a new name, the objective remains the same: to think and debate around the city of tomorrow and the transitions at work in this area.

The year 2020 has highlighted the importance of changing our lifestyle in the light of the deep double crisis we are experiencing: climate and health. A sustainable city that radically reduces its CO2 emissions is essential, especially as the 5th anniversary of the signing of the Paris Agreements approaches. But a healthy city is also a priority to continue to live despite the sociability constraints due to Covid-19 in our lives.

Three sequences

From then on, the City’s Zero Carbon forum will be broken down into three sequences, with first a dedicated section to urban transitions. In it, the speakers will mainly highlight energy transition projects like Qarnot Computing, which uses the heat from these data centers, installed in residences, to heat homes.

A second phase will be reserved for “moving in the city” where the problems and challenges of mobility and spatial planning in cities will be analyzed. It will be the occasion to take stock of the Toulouse Logistique Urbaine file, a vast platform to allow Toulouse to 100% electrify last mile delivery.

To conclude this event, a final sequence will be devoted to “living and working differently”, highlighting in part new forms of work such as third place or coworking spaces and the consequences on our rhythm of life.
