In India, a woman locked herself in her apartment with her son for three years, fearing the coronavirus. According to Oddity Central, the woman was convinced that if her son went outside during the pandemic, he would die.
The Indian woman’s husband also suffered in this situation. The woman simply forbade him to return to their apartment, and the man had to rent another home to avoid being homeless. Out of resentment, he went to the police and told everything there.
The law enforcement officers were so surprised by the situation that they did not immediately believe what they were told.
Police contacted the woman and she confirmed that she had indeed not been out with her child in three years. In addition, when the police contacted the Indian woman using a voicemail, they noticed that her house was full of mountains of garbage and the ten-year-old boy looked unkempt. “Finally we managed to convince him to stop living this lifestyle. She was taken to the hospital and then we went to the apartment to rescue the child,” the police said.
Now the mother and son are in the psychiatric ward, where they are receiving treatment.
