This summer, NRK told the story to «Thea».
At that time, the woman and her daughter had been persecuted and harassed by a man in Bjørnafjorden municipality for more than two years.
The small family met the man by chance in a park. It would change my life completely.
– Too sick to be punished
Despite several bans on seeking out the woman, the man approached Thea over ten times. But even though the man’s behavior was threatening, the police dropped the case time and time again.
The reason is that there was doubt about the man’s mental health. Nor did the public prosecutor believe that a case could be brought against him.
The man is too healthy to be sentenced to mental health care, and too ill to be prosecuted.
Thea and her lawyer are appealing the decision to drop the case and The Attorney General came on the scene. He changed it, and demanded a full investigation of all the cases.
Now the indictment is ready.
The prosecution requests that the man be transferred to compulsory mental health care.
– Thea is happy that the case has been taken seriously, and that she was upheld in the complaint. And for the man to get help, says Thea’s lawyer, Kristine Aarre Hånes.
