A septuagenarian was found dead in the lake of Saint-André, in the town of Porte-de-Savoie. The emergency services failed to revive her.
The Savoy firefighters received several calls this Wednesday at the end of the day to report a drowning in Lake Saint-André.
A woman over the age of seventy was found with her head in the water.
Witnesses took her out of the lake and tried to resuscitate her by performing cardiac massage. The emergency services then took over to try to save the septuagenarian, but she died.
At this time, the circumstances of the death are unknown. The investigation was entrusted to the gendarmerie.
Lake Saint-André is located in the commune of Porte-de-Savoie, about fifteen kilometers south of Chambéry.
