A video showing a police officer attacking an individual in a park is under analysis by the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), after circulating on social networks on Sunday.
On the images broadcast in particular on Facebook, it is possible to see several police officers gathered around a person on the ground that they seem to want to control.
Seconds later, one of the officers was observed punching the individual and holding him at head level.
The circumstances surrounding the procedure, including when and where it took place, are not known.
The SPVM was informed of the existence of this video and has since placed it under analysis, spokesperson Véronique Comtois said on Sunday evening.
