Actor Michael Sheen can be seen as Prince Andrew in a series about the controversial interview that the British prince gave to the BBC program in 2019 Newsnight. This is reported by the film website Variety.
The series, which is being made for Amazon, consists of three parts and will be titled A Very Royal Scandal.
The story revolves around the interview that Prince Andrew gave in 2019 Newsnight. In it, he was critically questioned by British journalist Emily Maitlis about his connection with American businessman Jeffrey Epstein, who was convicted of sex crimes.
Maitlis is played by Ruth Wilson, known for her role as Alice Morgan in the series Luther.
Several productions have already been made about the interview, in which the prince stuttered and sweated about his bond with Epstein. The British channel Channel 4 broadcast a documentary about it earlier this year and the American streaming service Peacock released a documentary last year.
Netflix is also currently working on a film adaptation of the BBC interview. For that film, actor Rufus Sewell takes on the role of the British prince. Gillian Anderson takes on the role of Maitlis.
