Last night, in the Saala Thiopel sector, located in the Nadhel district, under the urban municipality of Labé, a sandslide cost the lives of two people.
Mamadou Tanou Nadhel Diallo, president of the council of the district of Nadhel, returns to the circumstances of the tragedy, “It was at 1 a.m. that I was informed that there had been a landslide in the quarry which resulted in two deaths. Mamadou Cellou Diallo, 36, and Mamadou Dian, 33, were all married and the latter was the father of a child.
According to testimonies, it was a block of sand that gave way to bury the victims in their entrenchments at the bottom of the quarry.
One was buried at the scene of the tragedy and the second was sent back to his village for his burial.
