a refusal to comply leads to a seven kilometer chase for cannabis

A refusal to obey Mios ends in a chase this week according to the Gironde gendarmerie. The gendarmes tried to stop a car that smelled strongly of cannabis on Tuesday 6 December 2022. It took seven kilometers of pursuit to bring the vehicle to a stop. Finally, it was the gendarmes Biganos who intercepted it.

“Rejections to comply are on the rise”

The search for the automobile led to the discovery of 65 grams of cannabis. The two occupants were taken into custody. The motorist who was driving while intoxicated, without insurance and with a suspended license was referred to the prosecutor and his vehicle was seized.

Meanwhile, the passenger, also a drug addict, has been reported as having committed an offence. “Refusals to fulfill are on the rise”, writes the Gironde gendarmerie in a press release. They are responsible for two imprisonments and a fine of 15,000 euros.
