A record number of voters in the Sofia section – tens of thousands of foreigners with Bulgarian passports are registered at an official address in Sofia and appear on the voter lists.
The largest section in our country, at least according to the electoral lists, is located on the capital’s Ivan Shishman Street. In the 45th section of the capital’s Seventh School, 60,000 foreigners have to vote. They are all on the voter lists.
The reason is that the people have Bulgarian passports, but do not live in our country and are registered at the so-called business address – at 6 Lege Street, in the town hall of Sredets district.
“Currently, there are about 90,000 of these people in total. Approximately 23,500 are from the Republic of Northern Macedonia. About two-thirds of all those registered at this address are on the voter lists. So out of these 23,000 – roughly calculating the adults – nearly 16,000 will have the right to vote, “the district mayor told BTV. Traicho Traikov

The voter lists of Bulgarians by passport are over 1000 pages.
“Otherwise, the list itself in the folded state in A-4 format is very large, if it is stretched it will be at least 500 meters long. It is important to know that although a special section is set aside for this purpose, in the last elections, for example, not a single person voted, “said Traikov.
People with disabilities from the area also vote in the section. In the last elections, just over 50 people exercised their right to vote there.
