It has been a sensitive subject since mid-January in Tours-Nord: work to renew the water networks on the Avenue du Danemark side. The traffic was diverted by the Rue de Suede which created tensions in the Douets district, with in particular important passages of trucks, and the rise of security problems. The mayor of Tours went there a few days ago to take stock of the situation with residents.
This Thursday, Tours Métropole announces the implementation of a new traffic plan “to reduce inconvenience to residents. »The measurements are valid until the end of the work at the end of March.
From now on, the traffic plan for the Avenue du Danemark worksite includes; the reinforcement of signage on the Rouziers road upstream of the Swedish sea in the south> north direction; maintaining access for businesses located north of Avenue du Danemark by setting up a two-way street on the northern lanes and securing the sector as well as “calming traffic at peak times ( morning and evening) ”via a guaranteed presence of the Municipal Police of Tours.
The sector should return to normal at the beginning of April, but other projects are already being considered in the sector.
