a physical version on home consoles

The 90s can be defined as the golden age of platform games. A format that is easy to develop and that can be adapted in several forms according to the desired universe. This will have generated a lot of forgotten mascots, but also a great nostalgia for this period. So studios like PixelHive are rushing into this loophole, offering games such as Kaze and the Wild Masks. And that seems more than promising, because after an announcement on PC, here is that their game will also land on home console.

From the right platform

If we like platform games and more particularly in pixels, Kaze and the Wild Masks can only be of interest to us. We play in classic with a horizontal platform game, but which stands out with charming pixel characters created and animated by hand. The idea is to take the role of a slightly turbulent little rabbit who must save her friend Hogo by crossing the islands of Crystals which are in the grip of a curse. And in addition to the basic skills that his big ears grant him, Kaze will be able to fight the vegetables that have come alive by donning masks that will give him special abilities.

For now, no release date has been announced, but while we knew that a Steam version is in development, with a demo available. SOEDESCO and PixelHive have just announced that Kaze and the Wild Masks will benefit from a physical version, as well as a home console release with the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

André Schaan, CEO of PixelHive seems very happy with this announcement:

From the early stages of development, we always had in mind to have a home console version. Kaze and the Wild Masks encompasses all the classic elements of a 90s platformer game and we believe that both the Steam and home console versions will deliver something authentic in their own way. We can’t wait to bring nostalgic gameplay with a modern feel to today’s consoles.
