A photographer documents an “insanely” close-up video of black sea urchins in Spain

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The scene in the video above may be enough to confuse you, so what exactly are you looking at?

The surface of a planet may seem strange and distant in space, until you notice that it moves like a living being.

The Spanish photographer “obsessed with the ocean”, David Serradel, documented the scene in northeastern Spain, specifically on the coast of the city of Girona, and it is a close-up video of black sea urchins.

The photographer said in an interview with CNN Arabic: “My goal was to show something different, something that would arouse the viewer’s interest, while at the same time exploring what these creatures hide with their body structure.”

The close-up video groups that the photographer posted on his official Instagram account surprised Internet users, as they have garnered about 80,000 views so far.

“It’s not only amazing to see all the individual spikes that you see from so close up, but all the other shapes surrounding them, which make it look like we’re on another planet with crazy creatures,” the photographer explained.

To achieve this high level of accuracy, the photographer used a 100 mm telephoto lens with a 12.5 diopter lens.
